The Old Lace Shop is one of the oldest properties in Beer with parts of it dating from early 17th Century. Allegedly used by smugglers such as Jack Rattenbury, the upstairs window was reputedly used to watch for ships and to signal from! The cottage went on to become a centre for the making, buying and selling of lace, and was where parts of Queen Victoria's wedding dress was made.
Accommodation: The front door leads into a small vestibule with a door into the dining room. With wooden floors throughout, this room is nicely furnished with glass dining table and 6 chairs. There is a comfortable armchair by the electric flame-effect fire and some interesting pieces of artwork. Door from dining room into a small snug with sofa, TV and bookshelves. Door into wet room with hand basin and WC.
Another door from the dining room leads into the main lounge with sofa, two armchairs and large pouffee and bookshelves. Again there is an electric flame effect fire for those cosy evenings. With soft colours and wooden floors, this room is very spacious and relaxing. Doors onto paved patio with garden table, six chairs and a BBQ area.
Door from main lounge into well equipped kitchen. Plenty of units and worktops. Double oven, fridge/freezer, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine and large towel rail.
Also off of the main lounge is a coat/boot storage area with a separate wc and hand basin.

Bedroom with double bed, built in wardrobe, window looking onto Fore Street.

Twin bedroom: this room is double aspect, with two single beds and wardrobe.

Outside: patio doors lead out onto a good sized secluded patio garden with table, chairs and BBQ. Allocated parking for 2 cars very close by.
Restrictions: No smoking and regret no pets. Please note this property does not offer short breaks.
