We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hole House - inside and out.
The rooms are welcoming and cosy. The kitchen is well equipped and a great size. WiFi works. Mobile works away from the house. Beds are comfortable and there are more than enough bathrooms although these are a little outdated.

Despite the typical Devon lane access we would certainly consider staying here again given the close proximity to an interesting variety of towns, villages, beaches and country walks.

If you’re looking for somewhere to get away from the hustle and bustle of a busy life and just want to relax in stunning beautiful surroundings in complete peace, then Hole House is just the place you would want to be!

Waking up and going to sleep in tranquil surroundings with the only sound of the local wildlife is just wonderful.

Hole House has a beautifully kept garden, which is set in acres of natural beautiful woodlands.

The house will take you back in time in its history and its decor. The property it is not state of the art but has so much charm and everything you need for modern living.

There are lots of stunning walks: Branscombe, Beer - yes there’s actually a place called Beer, which is a beautiful little village together with walks to the local pubs.

We will definitely love to go back!

This house is enchanting, interesting, cosy yet a little spooky and we will always treasure the memories of our week there. The experience of being there is an opportunity to be in beautiful surroundings, in complete peace. We loved waking up and going to sleep hearing nothing but birdsong. We used the formal dining room each evening to enjoy a lovely family dinner and we lit a roaring log fire to play games and watch films around. We had four children in our party and they loved the freedom of the gardens and the land around the house. The sheep were an interesting distraction and the swallows nesting in the garage were fascinating. The house is not full of uber modern facilities and furniture but it is comfortable and well equipped. Beds are comfy, bathrooms clean with lashings of hot water, wi fi and mobile connections worked perfectly and reliably well in areas of the house and gardens. Cobwebs and the odd insect are to be expected in a house this age, enjoy them! The location is beautiful, branscombe gorgeous and easily walkable and beer, Lyme Regis etc an easy drive away.

A beautiful house. It's been a good few years since I stayed but the effect the house leaves on you is both beautiful and spellbinding. Guaranteed, you'll wish to return - just to feel that close to the fantastic countryside around you, and to feel so close to the past also. Lovely and peaceful!
