Description

If you enjoy historical properties, you will love Hole House. The fascinating Tudor residence with its wealth of original features is equipped as a very comfortable seaside home - perfect for families or couples seeking a special venue. The house is thoughtfully furnished in keeping with its period, with all modern conveniences in the kitchen, plenty of cloakrooms and lots of space for just relaxing. The gardens are particularly delightful and well tended. Worth a special mention is the duck pond whose residents enjoy being fed by younger visitors, the woodlands for wildlife enthusiasts. There are level lawns, perfect for relaxing or sunbathing and there is even a (challenging) footpath walk to the village. A unique holiday will be experienced at Hole House, which is the Owner's pride and joy for this reason, guest numbers are strictly limited to eight.

Location: Set in 58 acres of peaceful countryside on the edge of Branscombe village, 5 minutes drive to the beach and local inns or a hearty walk through the fields.

Accommodation Summary: Ground Floor: Panelled Tudor entrance. Drawing room with woodburning stove. Library. Dining room. Main kitchen. Pantry kitchen. Utility room. Breakfast room. Conservatory. Two cloakrooms/WCs. Very spacious throughout.

First floor: Bedroom 1 with double bed, lounge and private bathroom/WC in separate wing (offering basic accommodation). Bedroom 2 with 7' bed. Bedroom 3 with iron double bed. Landing sitting room with sofas. Bedroom 4 with double bed. Two further bathrooms/WC's /bidets

Equipment summary: Colour television. Electric cooker. Microwave. American style fridge/freezer. Washing machine. Tumble dryer. Dishwasher. Three showers. Three baths.

Outside: 58 acres of beautiful gardens and countryside, including walled formal gardens, terraces, courtyard, woodland and a 'secret' garden with pond. Ideal for nature and bird watching. Duck pond. Footpath through fields to village. Sea glimpses. Plentiful car parking at property including garage. The owners have another small detached property within the grounds which shares some paths/driveways.

Restrictions: No smoking inside the property. One pet only. One well behaved pet accepted. Credit card details are required as security against breakages/damage at this property. We would also point out that Hole House is booked as a holiday property only and may not be used as a venue for entertaining/parties/receptions within the duration of the booking for any guests other than those listed on the Booking Form. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hole House - inside and out.The rooms are welcoming and cosy. The kitchen is well equipped and a great size. WiFi works. Mobile works away from the house. Beds are comfortable and there are more than enough bathrooms although these are a little outdated.Despite the typical Devon lane access we would certainly consider staying here again given the close proximity to an interesting variety of towns, villages, beaches and country walks.

If you’re looking for somewhere to get away from the hustle and bustle of a busy life and just want to relax in stunning beautiful surroundings in complete peace, then Hole House is just the place you would want to be!Waking up and going to sleep in tranquil surroundings with the only sound of the local wildlife is just wonderful.Hole House has a beautifully kept garden, which is set in acres of natural beautiful woodlands.The house will take you back in time in its history and its decor. The property it is not state of the art but has so much charm and everything you need for modern living.There are lots of stunning walks: Branscombe, Beer - yes there’s actually a place called Beer, which is a beautiful little village together with walks to the local pubs.We will definitely love to go back!Stayed: June 2019
