Guest Reviews

We have a wonderful 2 weeks at the Great Barn and enjoyed wonderful hospitality from the Robinson family - as well as Adrian who looked after our day to day needs. The home is amazingly well equipped - the best we have stayed in over 20+ years. Every need has been thought about. The local history guides and the detailed information on what's around was second to none. There were plenty of board games, books etc for those inevitable wet days too. We did some great walks from the doorstep - to Sidmouth, Branscombe, Beer and Lyme Regis along the stunning coastal paths - as well as shorter ones to the Fountain Head Inn for great local beer. Most of all though we just enjoyed sitting on the deck, which gets the sun from morning til evening, looking out across the valley to the sea, watching the light change and listening the red kites and other wildlife. It is a fabulous place to relax and unwind. Thank you David and Silvan for sharing your amazing house in such a beautiful part of the world.

Past Customer,

If you are after peace and quiet in a stunning setting in 5 star accommodation, this is the place for you! The photos do not do it justice - it is an exceptional space and is really well kitted out with everything you could need. The beds and sofas are super comfy too! We got a lovely welcome from Adrian who was on hand for any enquiries we had during our stay. Also the generous welcome's pack was a lovely touch as were the fresh flowers. We would love to return and have no hesitation in recommending this unique home from home!

Past Customer,

Perfection !!! Gorgeous views, peaceful and beautiful. Would definitely go again.

Past Customer,

This property is set in spectacular surroundings. Perfect for a peaceful get away and relaxing stay. It was a superbly stocked home with all we required to make our stay a success. Wonderful beaches, days out and shops are all in close driving distance. Our children loved exploring the countryside fields and woods on the doorstep. The communication was excellent with the property manager .

Past Customer,

Adrian was really friendly and greeted us personally and gave us some great tips of local sights. The house is seriously awesome with loads of space and communal spaces. Everything was super clean and they even left us eggs, bread and some essentials. Life saver as the house is a little off the beaten track. Stay here!

Past Customer,

What an amazing place. Peaceful. Beautiful. And such wonderful hospitality. We’ll always remember breakfast on the deck in glorious sunshine. And we will be back!

Past Customer,

What an incredible spot. One of the real gems of England. The view from the Great Barn balcony is absolutely breathtaking. As we went through the weekend we encountered a mix bag of weather that shifted the look of the landscape. Quite simply epic. Silvan the owner, David his son and Adrian the estate manager were fantastic hosts offering a plethora of local knowledge including splendid walks to the beach and award winning watering holes. My dad, dog, two children and I are chomping at the bit to go back. If you’re looking for a peaceful, idyllic place to stay where you can explore local nature, eat well and put the world to rights of an evening, this is the place for you. Superb.
